Nero is one of a handful of former Baltimore residents who have contacted me through the site, wondering what in hell I’m still doing in Harm City. I work with, and am related to, numerous people from Baltimore who have fled to the area where Nero currently resides. From what I hear it sounds like pockets of urban blight in that area feature oppressed residents who wish to emulate the dark denizens that drove decent Baltimoreans away, making the entire situation taste of irony.
A Lanacaster man was arrested for pulling a knife out to defend against a crowd of knife-armed youths, who were attacking and threatening him and his passengers for flying the Confederate flag. All of you knife enthusiasts who think you have a right to defend yourself with a knife might want to read this article carefully. The police took the side of the mob, and they generally will, because a preponderance of witnesses tends to sway law enforcement. The pigs even took his flag.
You see, the law abiding citizen who admits to using a weapon gets in hot water with the pigs, while the hoodlums who hand off their knives to associates so they can be taken away before the cops get there, have done nothing wrong!
There was a time when police provided security for mobs of whites who attacked blacks. Now police provide security for mobs of blacks who attack whites. The foot is firmly on the other foot.
According to Nero:
“I doubt this incident is getting much press nationwide. There was a bit of a punch up the other day in Columbia, Pa. Sort of like a more multi-ethnic Hamden on the Susquehanna. Locals call it Scumbia...If that is a clue as to how it is perceived in the region. From what I have seen it is not a terrible place. A lot of section 8 and white pill poppers though...”
