The Indentured Project

I was thinking about the indentured project. Of course PA never kept records of the blot upon its honor. Have you tried the state archives of Rhode Island or Vermont???
Rhode Island was big in the whaling and slave trades (not to mention privateering). It also had a quasi rebellious streak running through it. They didn't call it Rogue Island for nothing. Vermont, was the same way in many respects. Even prior to the Green Mountain boys of Ethan Allen’s time. Remember that they were an independent republic for awhile. I feel like the state governments of these areas might be more amenable to actually keeping documents/testimonies of indentureds on hand...Just an idea.

I will pursue these suggestions as soon as I am done with servant records in 17th Century Virginia. Thank you so much for your help and support on this project.
