Absorbed
Poem by Ishmael
© 2017 James LaFond
JUL/2/17
My jumping off point is near,
See it in the stars,
As they sizzle and hiss at night,
Feel it in my soul,
Like the bull elk,
Arrow in his lungs times arrow,
His life force draining into the earth,
His vital life, my sustenance,
My body, my spirit,
His spirit and body,
Connected now forever.
Please, my friends,
Throw my ashes into the river,
You know which one,
So that I can be absorbed too,
All the atoms of all life,
Mingled together,
To replenish my mother.
