No one on the ground believes in this mission or this effort, and they know they are just training the next generation of jihadis, so they are sabotaging it by saying, ‘Fuck it, who cares?’”
“I don’t want to be responsible for Nusra guys saying they were trained by Americans,” the Green Beret added. A second Special Forces soldier commented that one Syrian militia they had trained recently crossed the border from Jordan on what had been pitched as a large-scale shaping operation that would change the course of the war. Watching the battle on a monitor while a drone flew overhead, “We literally watched them, with 30 guys in their force, run away from three or four ISIS guys.”

It certainly is a head-scratcher that ISIS, which one would think is composed of the most fanatic Jew-haters in the world, has never taken a single punch at Israel...

18 months ago I rad a story about IDF commandos doing a rescue operation of some group of combatants who where under fire from ISIS, and ISIS ceasing fire.
Is this, the enemy of my enemy is my friend?
Of is this the other clients of my supplier are off limits?
We gave weapons and money to Al Qaeda- why not ISIS? Our foreign policy establishment is so corrupt it wouldn't surprise me a bit. I think they get a lot of support from the Turks as well. Given that they are a Sunni organization and we do whatever the Sunnis tell us, it wouldn't surprise me a bit if we sponsored them to attack the Syrian government which is run by a nominally Shi'a sect.
ISIS does Israel's work by clearing out Christians (a better look if that messy job is contracted out). At an opportune moment, when the ISIS label can be affixed, it probably will give Israel enough cover to expel all Palestinians and finish, once and for all, a job well started.
