A young man I’ve been training for—wow, it appears to be five years now—sent me a link to read, me thinking that he wanted me to proof something for him, as I know he’s has been writing.
Writing is like sex, in that once you start doing it you are pretty sure when other people are doing it too.
I was surprised to find the article was something of a request for this old knucklehead not to stop his combat arts involvement and a reminder that I once promised to corner him. I’m flattered, and yes, I will corner you, Oliver. But once you’re out there I can’t coach you any more without the ability to talk above whisper, so pay attention while your ass is on the stool.
I quite enjoyed this piece, and would have liked it even more if it was about some other broken down piece of human debris. I appreciate the sentiment as well, which, as Bacon puts it, seems to present the best, and at once the most hopeful, outlook on aging.
Thanks, Oliver.
Check out OHT’s site at the link below. It doesn’t have a lot of content yet, but I expect coverage of big pro boxing bouts to be regular.
