Cutting Angles on the Big Man
Big versus Small: John Ruiz versus Roy Jones Junior
© 2015 James LaFond
MAR/26/15
This is the best modern example of a small man beating a big man who can fight. Ruiz was a spoiler who made things ugly for a lot of heavyweights. He was not great, but was good. It was once regarded as the light heavyweight champion’s job to challenge the heavyweight champion. Those times are long gone not to return in our minimal risk sports world. Thankfully the tradition is still alive among the lightweights who all seem to try their hand at welterweight.
Pay attention to George Foreman’s commentary and ignore the pious HBO idiots. For my analysis of the fight click here George Foreman On Catch Weight Fighting.
