Man Weekend 2016
Erique, Nick, Sean and James Stick-Fighting in the May Rain on the Shoulder of a Pennsylvania Mountain
© 2016 James LaFond
OCT/8/16
The sets recorded below were all stick fights, in which we called ourselves out when we judged that we would have taken enough damage in the absence of gear to incapacitates us. We wore cups, elbow pads, fencing masks and hokey gloves, except for the beer-bellied old man in the gay dinosaur shirt, who wore WEKAF competition gloves. there were two cup hits in this event—do not stick fight without a cup!
The exception is the set in which we used the shield. In that set we used the batons or ‘pins’ to represent machetes.
Erique [in the saber mask] did some nice trapping in this event.
Nick, in the black, did an excellent job, especially considering this was his first stick fight.
Sean showed good movement and got in some pass slashes and backhands, which are a must for a tall guy.
Thanks, Sean and Nick, for having us up for the weekend. My multi-set fight with Sean toward the end ended with me blowing my shoulder out trying to break his ribs. He then split my fencing mask, concussing me, and hit me on the shoulder, disarming me for the win.
This was my last stick fight.
Oh, Sean, did that fat old man rip your handsome body to shreds or did you back-sass Captain William Bligh of the HMS Bounty?
Hopefully next year Sean and Charles will have it out.
Sean, if you could post the full unedited video, I'd appreciate it. It would help me check your styles more thoroughly.

If I remember that story correctly Bligh got put out to sea for being an overbearing ass. Keep that in mind old man!

I'll post the unedited videos to the same channel as well.

Mister Christian!

You know, Sean, we could really milk this metaphor.
