Notes:
“Societies in decline have always – as far as I have been able to determine – suffered in the masculine sphere. This is simple to track within monarchies as succeeding generations of kings and emperors becoming increasingly effeminate, with a reactionary phase of ultra-masculine revival often signaling a last gasp of the culture” writes James LaFond in his book ‘Masculine Axis’. In modern America, as periods of apathy and obedience to a corrupt order marked by low amounts of violence burst forth suddenly with outbreaks of violent episodes such as the Baltimore and Ferguson riots in recent years, it is becoming increasingly clear that the system is less and less responsive to the everyday needs of ordinary people, and acting more like a rapid response team in order to quell dissent. The police are there to keep those riots contained – those employed at work, producing, consuming, and paying their taxes – and those who decide to drop out from getting too much traction in the market for ideas. Those in the middle – who cling to their aspirations of becoming members of the elite are the least free – as they can always be bribed to do the bidding of those at the top. To quote Fight Club author Chuck Palahniuk, however – “only after we’ve lost everything that we’re free to do anything.”
