‘The Wendish Crusade’
10 Bizarre Wars History Completely Forgot

The Wendish Crusade was humane compared to what happened to the Saxons under Charlemagne. The Teutonic Knights continued operations against Prussian and Lithuanian pagans for over a century, a fascinating and little known part of European history.
The War of the Triple Alliance was correctly chosen as Number 1—humans are so interesting when they disagree…
My novel, The Spiral case and The World is Our Widow, are set during the War of the Triple Alliance, which was covered by Richard Burton, the lead character in these stories.

About the War of the Triple Alliance:

Here in Brazil, there are a a lot of Liberals that worship Solano Lopez as some sort of "Revolutionary Left-Wing Hero" that was trying to transform hio country into a "Socialist Paradise", so he could make a stand agains the "Evil imperialist politics of the British Empire".

They also believe that Brazil, Uruguay and Argetina only declared War against Paraguay because the Brittish goverment ordered then to do so, because Great Britain didn't want an industrialized country in the Americas.

Of course, all of this is pure bullshit, as you would expect of liberals.
