‘The Eternal Compact’
"HAITA THE SHEPHERD" by Ambrose Bierce
© 2016 James LaFond
JAN/15/16
Ambrose Bierce disappeared in Mexico a hundred and one years ago. His horror stories are vividly postmodern in many ways, as if he had travelled forward in time and then returned and festooned these tales with the wordage of his own time. A link to Ambrose Bierce biographical and literary resources is below the video window.
Haita the Shepherd is a relentless, yet weirdly Idyllic, allegory seemingly intended to trouble the thoughts of those who define God in human terms.
