I only like paracord grips on knife tangs. I think using them on an axe handle is ill-advised, and would opt for scoring or using the paracord to build a base knob that will prevent the heel of the hand from slipping off. I have worked with a lot of different sword grips with wasters and prefer thread and or wire.
