‘To Be Slaves’
From Ancient Melos to the Postmodern Bellicose: Portland, 11/5/25

Reviewing the Pueblo Revolt by David Roberts, the morning after attending an Alaskan Native meeting in which one old woman recalled that she had been “kidnapped,” and taken to “a brutal boarding school,” it struck me that almost all definitions of slavery held be peoples of historical antiquity are not recognized by our own perception. David Roberts described the slaves of the Old New Mexico as being held in “virtual slavery,” despite being tortured, maimed, raped, executed and worked to death. We also had Indians using the term kidnapped, a Scottish term for being abducted and sold, as exclusive to their condition. A month ago, a 1/8th Santee Lakota man grew angry when I informed him that the “Indian normal School,” his grandmother was mind-screwed in, the very same physical, Iowa, school, with the same German American school master, had begun as “a Normal School,” where half orphans and orphans of Union Civil War Soldiers, were adjusted into viable economic material. We, all of us, have been deprived by our conditioning, to deny our slavery, the enslavement of our ancestors and the enslavement of others, past, present and future, on a host of grounds with ZERO historical basis.
I wonder at this master stroke, this timeless self-negation somehow implanted within our collective minds. Hundreds of academics have used millions of words in secular and Christian books to convince me, the reader, that the man who said he was a slave, who was unfree, bound, brutalized and owned in every social and material way, was somehow not a slave. Most Christians I read, listen preach and speak with, despite Their Lord and Savior addressing slavery as a social fact, a social good, and as a potential moral pitfall for master and slave, throughout his teachings, will deny that anyone in antiquity was held in slavery! How is it that Christians deny the teachings of their TEACHER only on this one thing? [1]
To recap dozens of chapters on Ancient, Medieval and Early Modern slavery in the Near East and Europe, every heathen, Christian, Jеwish and Muslim nation sanctioned enslaved states of being. In the three latter faiths, each held three things to be true:
-1. That slavery is a social good, a judgment from God, and also an economic boon to society, slavery always being preferable, from a social control and theological perspective, than hated LIBERTY.
-2. That true, absolute, miserable and abject slavery was most complete and wretched when one was held by a member of an enemy faith.
-3. That members of the The True Faith should not hold slaves of their own faith.
The result was, that when Christians enslaved Christians, these were sold to Jеws, who sexually maimed them, then sold them to Muslims. The reverse was also true. Thus all faiths agreed, in practice, to work around their own holy laws against selling same-faith persons into enemy faith bondage. Instead of manumitting fellows, the Three Peoples of the Book, damned them to the worst bondage. Why?
Simple profit was a motive. But this was had ever so often within the same faith, largely by lying about the condition of the slave. This is why every man who names himself a slave is called by his master, his friend, his servant, his boy, countryman, apprentice…
Duplicity has reigned mighty since A.D. 71. In early Antiquity, the men of Athens and Melos were honest about the fact that one nation must be enslaved or erased by the other, and that it would be the Melians who perished. For Athens had the power—all of it. All Melos had was right, decency, honesty, bravery, the rule of law and treaty. Athens had money, so Whore Justice served her, not Melos, lost to Eternity. All understood, in about 415 B.C., that the loser was a slave or a corpse.
Yet in the era of Monotheism, when “childish notions,” of divinity were put away, every faith minimizes the perception of the slavery it enabled, to the point of Christians casting slaves into Hebrew castration houses, slave ship holds and debtor prisons and selling millions into African Bondage under Islam, just as Chinese, to this day, eagerly sell daughters into the sex slave market. In Portland alone, every square mile has a Chinese woman locked up in a small shack.
The results, economically, are the same. The difference, in a faith selling its underclass to brutes of an enemy faith are but two:
-1. Suffering is more.
-2. Suffering is discrete, held out of view, blame assigned elsewhere.
Thus the vast levels of the pyramid, below the all seeing eye of EVIL, are obscured by its rays. Roberts, arguing from 2005 against the Spanish who named the Indians slaves, and the Indians who named themselves slaves, in their own contemporary documents from the 1500s and 1600s, has provided a key to understanding modern notions of slavery. The Town Indian man suffered all of the following:
-1. held under military occupation
-2. unable to bear arms
-3. unable to ride a horse
-4. unable to travel without permission
-5. held in chains
-6. worked under the lash
-7. worked without pay
-8. worked to death
-9. hand cut off for raising it
-10. foot cut off for running
-11. children sold away into bondage
-12. daughters raped
-13. wives raped
-14. men sodomized by priests [Spanish religious accounts record this as a judicial penalty, the priest merely doing his duty!]
-15. culture erased
-16. live under an alien race
-17. live under an alien faith
-18. worked for periods of years, so that the master did not have to feed or shelter the aged slave
-19. home towns destroyed
-20. hanged for failure to endure the above
The only thing that the Indian did not have to endure, the only thing that made the African American slave a more pure, most pure, and therefor ultimate and only slave, was that the Indian was not shipped to an alien land. The same academics that argue that only Africans can or could be slaves, also argue that Africans held in slavery in Africa, were not, and are not, actual slaves of the complete type. Europeans held in slavery in Africa are still not recognized as slaves. Hence, slavery, which is only recognized by our masters, if all 21 of the most horrific conditions are met, can only mean people of African origin held outside of Africa. This is nothing but a 2000 year old game that began with Paul’s defense of slavery in a letter, that has been a sham on humanity ever since. It also points to the reason why Africans were ultimately introduced into North America after a half dozen armed revolts, so that the Masters of All might point to one slave dancing, while telling the pale one tasked with digging, “Now boy, you are no slave—that’s a slave!”
Notes
-0. The title above was a standard ancient lament used in oration when one man sought to rouse his countrymen to fight and invader. Note, that under our current delusion, no such oration is possible unless we are black and live outside of Africa.
-1. Christians, seculars and Jеws seem always to lie or delude themselves on slavery. Muslims at least share the honesty of pagan Antiquity and call a slave a slave.
