My 2 cents worth is this: The Western European militaries couldn't crush a pack of highly-motivated Cub Scouts. Sure, there's La Legion and the British SAS & SBS, but those units are small in numbers and busy overseas. Britain, France, and Italy have sophisticated modern navies, but that won't do 'em any good unless they can wedge their aircraft carriers down the Danube. The Western Euros have completely lost their mojo, and would get their collective ass handed to them by the Poles or Hungarians in any potential fight to enforce EU rules.
