I was scrolling through the Al Profit and other YouTube crime documentaries and discovered this movie which I saw in the early 1980s. I had liked the film a lot, but do not trust my youthful tastes at this stage of the game. So, suspicious of my past self’s eye for quality I viewed Fort Apache The Bronx with a critical eye and loved it! It held up.

If you like The Wire this is the ancient version; with Pam Grier as an insane hooker, Paul Newman as a ‘liberal’ NYPD cop, Ed Asner as a hard ass captain, Tony Aielo as a thug cop, and a whole bunch of extras that probably never worked again.
